Butterfly Gardens is a community initiative based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, established in 2020. What began as a reading club for primary school learners has grown into a holistic project including an Early Childhood Development centre, a soup kitchen, and sustainable food gardens. Our seedlings are grown using environmentally responsible practices, focusing on soil health and natural methods. We produce a variety of seasonal vegetables and herbs, including tomatoes, spinach, cabbage, peppers, and basil. Seedling sales support our feeding programmes and help promote household food security. We are committed to empowering our community through education, sustainability, and access to nutritious food.
